Our Story

Jon and Cecil have been friends since college and have grown their relationship through various activities, such as fishing, tennis, and encouraging each other to love God and family. Both are married with two college aged children.

Between the two of them, they have over six decades of ministry experience including working with people of all ages, in many different settings. Day camp, outdoor recreation, drama, choirs, tours, fellowships, sports and retreats.

In the past few years, they’ve been connecting with more and more individuals, ministering to them in numerous ways from manual labor, to mentoring and coaching, to simply hanging out and developing edifying bonds. Most recently, they’ve moved forward with their desire to start a nonprofit organization to develop more structure and commitment to serving others with their time and gifts.

Your Next Steps Coaching is that organization.

Jonathan is a business owner, investor, San Francisco Fire Department captain and man of many skills. Cecil is a professional educator, trained minister and certified life coach. Jon is very mechanically inclined and knowledgeable about money and finances. He’s also extremely strategic. Cecil is knowledgeable about interior life matters and is solidly grounded in the Bible with a masters in theological studies. As a certified life coach, he also provides services for individuals, families and organizations in San Francisco with his life coaching practice, Family Connections Coaching.

Both are passionate for God and highly compassionate. They are deeply devoted to their families. They are men of action and care.
